Suppliers
The companies you buy from and the manufacturers that make what you sell, with photo and product page links for manufacturers.
Add Supplier
- 1Go to Suppliers and click New Supplier.
- 2Enter the Name.
- 3Check Supplier if you buy from them, Manufacturer if they make products in your catalog, or both.
- 4Add their Website if you like and click Save.
Only suppliers with Supplier checked show in purchase order supplier pickers. A manufacturer you buy through a distributor can be Manufacturer only.
Typing a new supplier name on a purchase order that matches an existing one, ignoring capitals and spacing, picks the existing supplier instead of adding a second.
Edit Supplier
- 1On Suppliers, click the pencil beside the supplier.
- 2Change any field and click Save.
Add Manufacturer Photo and Page Links
If a manufacturer’s photos and product pages have addresses built from the part number, every catalog item it makes can show its photo and link to its page.
- 1On Suppliers, click the pencil beside the manufacturer and check Manufacturer.
- 2In Photo URL, paste the address of one product photo and replace the part number with {sku}, like https://example.com/images/{sku}.jpg. Use {model} instead where the address uses the model number.
- 3Do the same for a product page in Product Page URL.
- 4Type a part number in Test with a SKU to check the photo and link, then click Save.
- 5Set the Manufacturer on each catalog item it makes (edit the item, or pick it when adding a new one).
Merge Duplicate Suppliers
The duplicate’s purchase orders, contacts, supplier SKUs and catalog items move to the supplier you kept, and the duplicate is deleted. This can’t be undone.
- 1On Suppliers, click the pencil beside the supplier you want to keep.
- 2Under Merge Duplicate, choose the duplicate and click Merge, then confirm.
Deactivate Supplier
Click the pencil beside the supplier, uncheck Active and click Save. It leaves the purchase order pickers but its history stays. Check Show inactive on Suppliers to see it again.
